RECAP AND RESULTS : FINALS 2020

After very high level finals and a unique show that took place during the whole weekend, it is finally BOTRL on League of Legends, xFabinho on Fifa and Tortel on Clash Royale who are now at the top of the esports scene in Luxembourg! And last but not least: Season 2 already in preparation!

To conclude the first season in the best possible way, the POST eSports League Finals were held at
the Kinepolis in Kirchberg, where the largest cinema in the complex was custom-built to host the
event. Due to the current sanitary context, the show took place behind closed doors. But all the finals were broadcasted live on Twitch and on POST TV!

THE REPLAY OF THE EVENT IS ALREADY AVAILABLE ON THE TWITCH CHANNEL OF THE LEAGUE!

Let’s get into the recap’ of the finals!

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS – BOTRL REALIZES A CRAZY UPSET

3rd PLACE SET

CORONA DIFFERENCE (3) VS KNËPPEL CLUB (4)

The weekend of finals started in the most beautiful way with a confrontation between Corona
Difference (3) and Knëppel Club for the 3rd place. Determined to prove that they that they weren’t there by accident, the 2 teams offered us an explosive set! While CD took the upper
hand in game 1, Knëppel Club dominated the 2nd set. The difference was made in the final set,
where Corona was able to play an extremely close and exciting match! They thus reached the
podium of the POST eSports League, taking 3rd place. Knëppel Club finished 4th after a very good
season.

GRAND FINAL

OUTPLAY (1) VS BROTHERHOOD OF THE RED LION (2)

Their rivalry began at the Qualifiers last March. Indeed, Outplay and BOTRL were the first 2 teams to
qualify within the league by sweeping the competition without difficulty. From the start of the
season, the two Luxembourg teams were able to put on their most beautiful favorite outfit. And it’s
little to say that they ensured this status from start to finish: first by sitting in the first 2 places of the
regular season, then by reaching the finals by dominating Corona Difference and Knëppel Club in the
previous round.

The context was set, the 2 best teams of the Greater Region were ready to fight and we were not
disappointed by the show!

Indeed, if Outplay was the clear favorite… Brotherhood makes the predictions lie by winning the
Game 1 with a crazy ease! The pressure is then on the yellow and blue team who must react
immediately. Except that the red lions keep the same dynamics and dominate Game 2! The surprise
is total! At this stage, Brotherhood has 3 match points to become champions. It will only take them
one to go all the way to the end and make an absolutely monumental upset! It’s done, the giant
Outplay has fallen, and it is indeed BOTRL who achieves the most beautiful performance in the
history of the League of Legends scene in Luxembourg!

Final ranking of the last four :

  • 1st : Brotherhood of the Red Lion (5000€)
  • 2nd : Outplay Esports (2500€)
  • 3rd : Corona Difference (1000€)
  • 4th : Knëppel Club (RFe) (750€)

CLASH ROYALE – TORTEL TAKES THE TITLE AFTER AN EXCEPTIONAL FINAL
SEMI-FINALS

SEMI-FINALS

ORANGE (5) VS TORTEL (8)

The first 2 semi-finalists to take the stage were Tortel and Orange. The first one is logically favorite
after having eliminated Magic from team Kaio (MVP of the season) in the previous round, while the
second one is considered as the outsider of this last four.

The player of Royal Family assures his rank by taking the upper hand from game 1 although Orange
was ambushed until the end. Same scenario for games 2 and 3, Tortel takes the upper hand with
experience to push his opponent to the edge of the chasm at 3-0. But Orange has heart and wins
Game 4! However, it was only an honorary win, the Royal Family player won Game 5 and reached the
final with a 10-2 score in the playoffs!

KRYPTO (3) VS BERRY (7)

The fratricidal duel between the 2 Outplay players promised a balanced confrontation between the
n°1 of Luxembourg (Krypto) and the defending champion of LGX (Berry). But Krypto said it several
times before the finals “good luck to my opponents, they will need it”. And he proves from the start
that this was not just talk by quickly winning the first 2 sets to lead 2-0! The 3rd match is more
undecided but Krypto wins on the wire (25pts of life on his tower!!!! ). In Game 4, Krypto almost
repeated the same game but Berry snatched the victory at 2sc from the end of regulation time (3-1).
Berry goes on to win Game 5 to come back to 3-2! However Krypto doesn’t miss a 3rd chance in a
row and wins a clear victory in Game 6 to join Tortel in the final!

3rd PLACE SET

ORANGE (5) VS BERRY (7)

Will Outplay manage to place 2 players on the podium? Is Orange going to lie the predictions and get
a magnificent 3rd place?

Game 1 tends towards the 1st scenario with a victory of Berry. Game 2 is crazy, and it’s at the end of
the suspense that the Outplay player sends Orange in the ropes (2-0). Berry then goes on without
shaking, inflicts a sweep on his opponent (4-0) and climbs on the 3rd place of the podium!

GRAND FINAL

KRYPTO VS TORTEL

If Tortel and Krypto didn’t finish in the top 2 places during the regular season, they were the 2
favorites for the title at the start of the league! Proving their superiority during the whole playoffs,
they were ready to show us all their talent in a game at the top.

Both players are very aggressive from the beginning of the series, but it is Tortel who quickly pockets
2 victories to lead the series (2-0). Despite a bad start, Krypto proves that he has a steel mentality
and comes back to 2-1. Problem, on the other side Tortel doesn’t intend to make the series last and
pushes the nail in the 4th set to take an almost decisive lead (3-1). With one hand already on the cup,
Tortel knows it, coming back from a 3-1 is very rare. But Krypto didn’t go all the way to give up so
easily and pushes the series towards a 6th match (3-2)! Would the momentum have changed sides?
The answer is yes ! The Outplay player doesn’t give up anything : victory, 3-3, ball in the center,
ultimate Game 7 ! What an incredible scenario for this final! The last game of the season has finally
been played with few things… and after an incredibly tense game, it’s finally Tortel who takes things
in hand to become the 1st POST eSports League Clash Royal Champion!

Final ranking of the last four :

  • 1st : Tortel from Royal Family (1500€)
  • 2nd : Krypto from Outplay (900€)
  • 3rd : Berry from Outplay (600€)
  • 4th : Orange (400€)

FIFA20 – xFABINHO FIGURE DE LA NOUVELLE GÉNÉRATION

SEMI-FINALS

xFABINHO (1) VS SHADOOW (4)

The poster that everyone was waiting for between the Belgian champion and the MVP of the season
did not disappoint! Considered the favorite of the last four by his pairs, Shadoow showed that his
reputation is not usurped by inflicting a 3-0 to xFabinho. Dominated at the beginning of Game 2 and
very close to elimination, the Outplay player saves his season by equalizing and then winning in
overtime (2-1)! The 2 rivals have raised the suspense to its paroxysm in the final round by not
managing to break the tie after 2 overtime! By drawing from his ultimate resources, xFabinho
manages to support the pressure of the stake during the Golden Goal and to score the goal of
deliverance which sends him straight to the final!

FUORICLASSE (2) VS LXBFIFA (3)

The 2 outsiders of the last four will face each other in a semi-final that will allow these two new
nuggets of the esports scene to reach a final against xFabinho! Not impressed by the event,
Furioclasse scored 2 goals in a row to win the Game 1 despite a reduction of the Outplay player’s
score (2-1). Fuoriclasse continues on his way to the next game by quickly leading 1-0. While all
seemed lost for LxbFIFA, he manages to equalize at the 83rd minute! But the new protégé of Helios
Gaming presses the gas pedal one last time (2-1) and offers himself a qualification for the final!

GRAND FINAL

xFABINHO VS FUORICLASSE

One thing was sure before the final: a new generation of players took over with Fuoriclasse from the
Grand Est (France) and xFabinho from Luxembourg. But there is only one place at the top! And it’s
Fuoriclasse who puts a 1st foot on top of the mountain by quickly scoring his 1st goal (1-0) shortly
after the beginning of Game 1. The clock is ticking and xFabinho can’t find a solution against the
Helios player who plays all in control. But on a last miraculous action at 90+5min the Luxembourg n°1
equalizes and sends the 2 players in overtime, then to the golden goal! Golden goal session which
lasted the time of a whole match, until xFabinho repeats by scoring to offer himself a 1st exceptional
victory after 210 minutes of play ! The craziest in the story? the scenario is EXACTLY the same in
Game 2 ! xFabinho equals Fuoriclasse in the last minutes, the match ends in golden goal again, and
the Outplay player scores the most important goal of his young career to win the final !

xFabinho can let its joy explode: in addition to becoming the undisputed No. 1 in the Greater Region,
offers Outplay the 1st title in its history!

On its side Shadoow concludes its very beautiful course by taking the upper hand on LxbFIFA in small
final to complete the podium and finish 3rd of the league.

Final ranking of the last four :

  • 1st : xFabinho from Outplay (2000€)
  • 2nd : Fuoriclasse from Helios Gaming (1500€)
  • 3rd : Shadoow from Standard de Liège (1000€)
  • 4th : LxbFIFA from Outplay (700€)
